Weavers of Culture and Indigenous mindset
PROFESSIONAL
KKI fuses both traditional and modern techniques of transmitting knowledge and information. We provides educational and professional advancement workshops and programs for our community. We strive to operate with ʻohana (family) values and an indigenous responsible mindset.
PROFESSIONAL ADVANCEMENT
Providing indigenous responsible mindset training for Hawaii businesses, establishments and their team members, to guide them to shift the culture in which they operate, by providing cultural education, protocols and sense of place.
CULTURAL CONSULTATION & ORGANIZATION DEVELOPMENT
To enlighten businesses and organizations with authentic, cultural values and knowledge through discussions and design to establish a first foundation and direction.
POLYFORESTRY CONSULTATION
Provide Cultural insight, consultation, designs and expertise in our farming and agricultural sector. Also provide webinars and workshops in relations to mahiʻai and farming.
COMMUNITY
Our passion is our community. Our programs are designed to revitalize, normalize and encourage traditional ways of community engagement, while creating safe space for indigenous knowledge, discussions, communication and access to support and resources. We hope to elevate and empower our Maui community and our vulnerable Native Hawaiian community through self identity, cultural relationships and community connections.
PIHANA KANAKA
Providing safe and comfortable space for healthy community discussions/ engagements to elevate each other in a positive and supportive environment.
KŪMAULI
A series of workshops for overall health and wellbeing of a community, with the intention to enlighten the community to culture, protocols, self identity and the vitality of creating safe responsible space for indigenous people and their teachings and individuals who live and work with our Hawaiʻi community .
KAUHULU
A cultural speaking series featuring community members and experts to encourage community engagement, education and awareness.
ʻAHA ʻOHANA
A fun family game and activity night for our community to engage and learn in a safe space.
CURRICULUM & PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT
Collectively developing culturally appropriate programs and curriculum with community entities, organizations and businesses.
YOUTH EDUCATION
Integrating Hawaiian Culture and Modern Tools and Technologies to provide Hawaiian Cultural Learning Opportunities for our youth. Facilitating and Hosting these educational programs in a safe space and collaborating with community organizations to advance our education efforts.
